Plan a room redesign with real products
You will have a room brief, three layout ideas and a checked shopping list that fits your budget.
Before you start
- One room and its measurements
- A budget
- A few photos of styles you like
Step 1: Measure and describe
Write the room size, where the windows and doors are and what must stay. Add your budget and who uses the room.
Step 2: Ask for three layouts
My room is [size] with [windows and doors]. Budget: [amount]. Style: [style]. Must stay: [items]. Give me three layout ideas, each with what goes where, what to buy and why it works. Do not name exact products or prices yet.
Pick one layout. Draw it on paper with the real measurements to check things fit.
Step 3: Turn it into a shopping list
- List each item type you need with a maximum size and price.
- Search retailers yourself for real products that match.
- Check each product page for size, price and stock.
- Add up the total and compare it with your budget.
Assistants sometimes describe products that do not exist or have changed. Trust only what you see on the retailer’s own page.
Step 4: Buy in a sensible order
- Buy the biggest piece first and check it fits before you buy small items.
- Check the return policy.
- Keep receipts until the room is finished.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Buying before measuring
- Trusting a product name or price from a chat
- Choosing a style that clashes with what must stay
- Forgetting delivery costs
Final checklist
- I measured the room
- I chose one layout
- Every item on my list is on a real product page
- The total fits my budget
