Write a short video script in your voice
You will have a 60-second script in your voice, with a hook, three points and a closing action.
Before you start
- Two or three transcripts of videos you made, or things you said or wrote
- An idea for one new short video
- An AI assistant
Use your own words as the guide
The assistant cannot guess how you speak. Give it a few samples of you, and it will copy your pace, your word choices and your habits.
Use your own material. Do not feed in another creator’s work and ask it to imitate them.
Step 1: Describe your voice
Here are three samples of how I speak: [paste samples] Describe my speaking style in six bullet points: sentence length, favourite phrases, level of formality, how I start and end, and what I never say.
Edit the six points until you agree with each one. Save them for next time.
Step 2: Draft the script
Write a 60-second script, about 150 words, on: [idea]. Use my voice notes below. Structure: a one-line hook, three short points, one closing action. Use only facts I give you. Mark any line where you are unsure. My voice notes: [paste the six bullet points] Facts: [paste your facts]
Step 3: Read it aloud and fix it
- Read the script aloud once at your normal pace.
- Change any line you stumble on.
- Check it is under 60 seconds.
- Check each fact against your notes.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Asking for “my voice” without giving samples
- Imitating another creator’s style or words
- Skipping the read-aloud test
- Letting the script claim things you did not say
Final checklist
- I wrote my voice notes from my own samples
- The script has a hook, three points and an action
- I read it aloud
- I checked all facts
