Content creation
Build your first AI content system
You will have a four-step weekly routine, a saved set of instructions and one week of content planned.
Before you start
- A topic you post about
- An AI assistant
- A place to keep notes
- About an hour a week
The four steps
A system is just the same steps in the same order each week. Four are enough: collect, draft, review and schedule.
Step 1: Collect
Keep one note called “Ideas”. Through the week, add questions customers ask, things you learned and mistakes you saw. Raw and short is fine.
Step 2: Draft
Here are my notes from this week: [paste ideas] Pick the three best ideas for [audience]. For each, draft one post of up to 120 words in my voice. Use only my notes and do not add facts. Add a one-line reason you chose each idea.
Save the instructions you like in your notes so you paste the same ones each week.
Step 3: Review
- Check every fact against your notes.
- Change anything that does not sound like you.
- Remove anything private about a customer.
- Approve only what you would be happy to see with your name on it.
Step 4: Schedule
Pick fixed days and times and put them in a calendar. Using the same slots each week makes the routine easier to keep.
After two weeks, note which posts did best. Add that to your instructions.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Collecting nothing, then drafting from a blank page
- Publishing without a review
- Changing the routine every week
- Planning more posts than you can keep up with
Final checklist
- I have an Ideas note
- I saved my drafting instructions
- I reviewed every post
- I scheduled with fixed days and times
