Everyday productivity
Try a different AI model without breaking your setup
You will have a side-by-side result on one task and a clear decision on whether to switch.
Before you start
- An assistant you use today
- A new model you want to try
- One real task with a result you can judge
Keep it separate
Try the new model in a separate chat or account. Do not change your saved instructions or connect it to your files until it has earned that.
Step 1: Run the same task
- Pick a task you have done before and know the right answer to.
- Give both models the same words and the same facts.
- Save both results side by side.
Step 2: Judge on four points
- Accuracy: are the facts right?
- Fit: does it follow your instructions?
- Effort: how much did you fix?
- Cost: what is the price and the usage limit?
Step 3: Decide
If the new one is clearly better on a job, use it for that job only. Keep your usual one for the rest. Review in a month.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Switching everything at once
- Judging on one answer
- Giving a new tool access to files on day one
- Ignoring cost and limits
Final checklist
- I ran the same task in both
- I judged on four points
- I changed only one job
