Image tool comparison prompts

You will have a five-prompt test kit and a scoring sheet you can reuse on any tool.

Before you start

  • An AI assistant, free plan is fine
  • A real task to try the prompts on

How to use this pack

Use the same five prompts, word for word, in each tool. Run each once. Score only what you see.

The five tests

1. People and hands

A person holding a coffee cup and a book, seated at a wooden table by a window, natural light.

2. Text

A simple shop sign that reads “OPEN” in clear capital letters, on a brick wall.

3. Following instructions

Three apples in a row on a table: one red, one green, one yellow, from left to right.

4. Style

A flat vector illustration of a bicycle, limited palette of four colours, plain background.

5. Consistency

The same cartoon fox shown in two scenes: reading a book, and riding a bike. Same face, same colours.

Scoring sheet

  • Followed the prompt exactly: 0 to 2
  • Details correct: 0 to 2
  • Looks usable without editing: 0 to 2
  • Total out of 6 for each test, 30 overall

Add each tool’s price and usage terms to your notes. A top scorer may still be the wrong choice if it costs more than you need.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Retrying until a tool wins
  • Not checking usage terms
  • Judging by style alone
  • Changing the wording between tools

Final checklist

  • Both tools got identical prompts
  • I scored every test
  • I noted price and terms
